This year we did a thankful jar. We started this fall. I intended to decorate it but that will have to be for next year. Everyone writes down what they are thankful for (hopefully throughout the year) and we read them after dinner. The kids LOVED it. 
New England is so much fun! So much to be thankful for. Love to see God's beauty in nature. This Thanksgiving we decided to get away. We headed to Vermont for the weekend! It was beautiful! Fun family resort! We were just short on a little snow. A big storm had blown through so we were hopeful to get on the slopes but the temps were gonna be in the 50's for a couple days soooooo....we didn't get any skiing in which was a bummer however it will just make it that more exciting when we get to go again. The kids are itching to get up there. I can't wait to try out my new skis either! :0) Won't be long!! I loved the village at this place....so fun!
What better way to pass the time until the turkey was ready than a fun game of hearts. The kids are getting pretty good at it!

Conner got to celebrate with a feast early at school this year. They had all the fixings. He devours the pumpkin pie! The thing on his head is a turkey with long legs! Another treasure he found a spot for in his room!
Here is the new word wall. Kaitlyn changes these sight words every week or so for Conner. I credit her for his awesome reading skills! The other day K asked me if I would come in and read to her class. I told her that I volunteer already and that isn't what her teacher has me do. So C told her, "I'll come in and read to your class!" I know he really would and he would be really good at it! I can just see it now. A preschooler reading to a first grade class.
The sight words above are.....orange, green, seven, room, us, use, see, then, well. He has those down. The chalkboard below has a message from Conner! "I love you and I love you Kaitlyn."
The kids learned how to play hearts this past week. They aren't too bad. We weren't playing with the Queen of Spades yet. It is pretty cool to see all we can do now that the kids are getting older! We have so much fun ahead of us!
These two LOVE crafts. I guess all kids do. Kaitlyn asks me every day what craft we can do. S's birthday favors were these ceramics to paint. The kids loved it!
The birthday girl, Samantha, had to reschedule her birthday party for this past weekend since that big storm fell right when we were to celebrate her day. We had a great time bowling...if you can call it that. Still not a big fan of the pin ball bowling they do here. We would rather use the "normal" size balls. However the balls are perfect for the kids to hold. We will conform to the New England way for now! :0) We had a great time!! Happy 3rd birthday, Samantha!

K had a project she brought home for a the family. We were suppose to disguise a turkey as part of our family and keep him safe til after Christmas. Conner wanted to join in on the fun. Conner made the turkey (didn't he color it amazingly) and Kaitlyn made the ladybug. We get tons of ladybugs in the house during the winter so I'm sure this one would blend right in. We had a fun. Now if only we can keep them safe til after Thanksgiving!
This month the class has a tepee set up in the classroom. We took a couple shots before we left our meeting!
