Wonka

Our neighbors had told us of this house a couple towns over that go all out for Halloween. Not scary stuff but fun stuff. The homeowners have come up with different themes every year. This year it was Charlie and the Chocolate factory. We saw Mr. Wonka, charlie, that girl that turned purple and tons of the umpa lumpas (is that how you spell it? probably not but you get the idea). They had tons of different little skits they put on. The yard was full of candy stuff coming out of the ground. The umpa lumpas did a song and dance for us. I only caught the last 11 seconds on video. It was funny. Then we went through the factory and got to pick out candy. This was the homeowners last year putting it all on so we were glad we made it. The cool thing was the street this house was on was packed and the other homeowners were ready for the crowds. It was a perfect spot so we decided to let the kids do a little trick or treating this night too. So lucky dogs got two night of collecting candy in. That means more candy for mommy and daddy!! So much fun!

Trust and Loot

So I know it is silly but I want to believe the kids will obey the sign of only taking one. I didn't buy as much candy this year but I did put it out. I just feel bad that we are out collecting candy and we aren't there to hand any out. We might do it a little differently next year. I just hope more than 10 kids were able to get some of the candy! That there is trust! Ha!

The kids made out pretty well. We started as soon as we could at 5pm and didn't get home until 655pm. 5 minutes to spare! The last 10 minutes, Conner kept saying, " My legs are hurting!" They both were happy campers!

Trick or Treating

So we ended up having good weather again for trick or treating. No jackets required for the kids ( just lots of layers). Our town does trick or treating the saturday closest to Halloween. We only get between 5-7pm which is fine by me. We have a bag full of candy and we don't have kids coming to our door at all hours. We had a crowd this year. Besides our 5 neighborhood kids that we usually go with, we had a few extras. It was fun. We ended up splitting up and we meet up at the end of the night for a little adult party. Good times!

Carving Time

We really enjoy our family carving time. I do think we told each other we were going to do simple jac- o -laterns this year. we forgot until we already started carving! Snow white and Eeyore are not easy to carve. The kids had fun again this year with the guts!! I think Tim did a really good job on our pumpkins!

Hard to believe......

Guess who we get to see???

We still have to wait 6 weeks but I see the light! We finally get to hold and love on our niece!!!! I can't believe we haven't seen her other than skype since she was born! WE are beyond excited!!! Isn't she beautiful? This is our other niece, Karis. Don't you LOVE that name?! I do!!! Anyways, her parents are being awesome and bringing her to come visit us! Thanks Mark and Rachel!!! Can't wait til you get here!!

Preschool Harvest Party

2 princesses, Peter Pan, Thomas, Scarecrow, Dalmation, Pooh, and Pirate. I totally need a new camera. My pictures just aren't turning out well.

Candy bags

We made our trick or treating bags yesterday! The kids went a little haywire with the puffy paints but they had fun! We are letting one side dry and will work on the other side tonight!

Boat ride

I was sitting in the living room and Conner was playing in the play room. I thought he might have gotten into the grocery bags. All of a sudden, he paddles his way into the living room. He used his blue blanket (Aunt Cherie made him---he loves it so much!), put a shoe box on top and an Elmo bucket on the back of the box and then used these noise clappers as paddles. It really was cute and a good use of the imagination!! Have i mentioned how much I love this kid?

Love these stairs

I don't know why I haven't gotten pictures on these stairs before. These are samantha's stairs. Aren't they pretty? We love playing with Samantha!!

Prayer is powerful

We are teaching our children the importance of prayer!
Conner and I were going to go do some shopping.
As I am driving, I hear Conner saying, " Dear Jesus, please find me a Mater my other one broke! Thank you. In Jesus name Amen."
It touched my heart and made me smile.

HUGE

Check out how huge one of our mums got this year. A little too big! I had to use a bungie cord to hold it together. The bees really love this one!

My big bro and sweet lil Mercy

With plans to see my new niece, Karis, I am really feeling like I am missing out on Mercy as well. They are both getting sooo big! I feel like I am totally missing out on them. Here is Jeremy, my brother and his little girl, Mercy. Aren't they cute?!

Fire safety

I had the privilege of going on a field trip with K's class. The kids were good. I wish i could have stayed all day and watch how the kids interact! It is fun to watch. This is one of K's friends, Ivy.

All the kindergarten's throughout our town met up at a school and explored ambulances and fire trucks. They also got to got through a mock burning house. The smoke was thick and the kids got low and crawled under the smoke. We got to watch a fire safety video and talk with some paramedics and firemen! I have a ginormous headache now but so glad I went!

We had a fun time together. We were just missing Kaitlyn. It is hard being without her all day! Conner and Smantha had a blast together!

Conner is in LOVE

This is Kaylin. Conner calls her by her nickname...KK. She is cute isn't she? She goes to preschool and sunday school with Conner. I told her mom that Conner says he is going to marry her! She told me today that KK says, "Conner and me are 'together'. " Now isn't that cute? It won't be so cute in 12 years! I will enjoy it now though! He says her eyes are "buutful" her hair too!!

Leaves

We went on a late evening walk with Nick and Vanessa. We couldn't resist playing in the leaves with them. Our pile was still there from the other day. We we able to make it a bit bigger.......another week or two and we will be in leaf heaven! We have so much fun with these two!

A new buddy

We took our new buddy, Josh on one of our wild adventures! We had him all to ourselves all day. Conner had such a great time hiking with Josh. I am again just in awe of God's awesome creation! We hiked in a state park along the river! It was beautiful. The boys found sticks, rocks, acorns, holes in trees and just about anything laying on the ground. They wrestled in the grass and raced to different trees. We had such a nice day! Thanks Josh for putting up with us!
