Decorating

This year the decorating process was SOO much fun!! The kids were totally into it and loving every minute of it! Conner was just shrilling in glee. I decided to lay out all of the ornaments so they could see them all. We talked about each one of them as I laid them out. So much happiness was going on in the house. It was GREAT! I can't wait to see how excited they both will be come Christmas morning!!

A Hunting we will go....

We were in search of a good tree. Kaitlyn and Conner loved absolutely loved running through the trees. This year was awesome. November has been so mild this year. Last year it was freezing outside and snow was covering the ground. Today the sun was shinning and it was just gorgeous. 50 something degrees...could not ask for a better day. The kids loved all the baby trees.Conner thought it was so fun finding all the stumps where trees had already been cut down. He was so proud of himslef.

Found our perfect tree! Conner got all into it and had to help with the sawing. TIMBER! We all loved saying that!

Thanksgiving 2009

Conner is such a lover! He especially loves Averi!
Our entertainment that evening were the mullets. Averi brought the kids downstairs with these wigs on. It was hilarious. I couldn't stop laughing. They were comical. And below was our game of jenga. Both kids are pretty good at it and they love playing with Chris and Averi.
Thanks C and A for a perfect Thanksgiving meal with good friends and great food. And thanks for loving our kids! It means the world to us!

hummmmmm

So Conner hasn't taken a liking to JOE. Kaitlyn was able to locate Joe this morning in the kitchen. They were acting scared and stuff and I wasn't quite sure why until finally i figured out that they were scared of Joe. How did he get there? Here Kaitlyn is acting brave and trying to comfort Conner, telling him it is just Joe...it is okay. Oh Conner still thinks it is hilarious when he crosses his eyes!

Yes, as Kaitlyn was sitting poising in her hat and necklace she made at school today, She yells out...."Native American". She did learn about the pilgrims and indians which is more than some schools teach now a days but...
Don't you remember all the fun of playing pilgrims and INDIANS. Yep, running around the house with your hand over your mouth making all those silly noises.."hoy ya hoy ya hoy ya hoooooy YYYYAAA" Those were the days. Not that kids are worse of now but that was fun. I still run around the house doing those noises sometimes!

Peanuts

If you have read my blog recently, you would have read how Kaitlyn calls Conner's male parts, peanuts. Well we used the bathroom at the bookstore today. She went into the stall by herself and even flushed the toilet with her foot. Such a proud mommy I am. When we came out and were walking through the store, Kaitlyn grabbed her crouch and looked in pain and said, " Mommy, my peanuts are red!" Oh what goes through these kid's heads. I couldn't hold back my laughter.

Elf on the Shelf

Have you guys heard of this? My friends have been telling me about it for several years now. I didn't get it last year but I broke down and got it this year. I wasn't sure if we were going to go down the whole Santa route but we have. My parents let us believe in it when we were little. I just want to make sure we stress the real reason for Christmas. I don't ever want that to get lost.
The elf on the shelf reports to Santa every night and then in the morning when the kids wake up they have to look around the house and find where JOE (that is what they have named him) is sitting. Every morning he is in a new spot. It should be fun. A tradition that we will see how long lasts.

First Cleaning

K and C had their dental visit today. I don't go in the back with them which is totally fine with me. Kaitlyn was clinging to me but we pried her off and she went back. Conner just marched right into the back without a problem at all. It was his first cleaning and he loved it! He is such a trooper. Best little kid around! He brings us so much joy! I can't get enough of him. His teeth grew in a little weird so he needs to get some kind of coating over his back 2yr old molars. No cavities just something to prevent them. So we will be heading back in Jan. Fun times!

Gobble Gobble

I love the line..."I'm not here for living. I'm here for Thanksgiving!" Kaitlyn came home singing this from school the other day and it took awhile before I understood the words but now it is so catchy that we have been singing it for days now.

Santa Parade

Right down main st USA.....what a parade. The Macy's parade has nothing on our town.HA! At least it was relatively warm this year. Crazy to think that it is already time for Thanksgiving!

Strike!!

We had the bowling alley to ourselves! And I am happy to report...i am a horrible bowler! I don't think any of us hit over 100 and both kids beat me! The second game Tim and I played each other and I tried to take a pic of the final score but he kept stopping me. I guess he would be embarrassed but I think it was like 70 to 52. He beat me but for the life of us we couldn't get our strikes. I really think they gave us a dud for an alley. It always pulled to the right but...who knows practice would help. We had a nice family night out....then i went to work!

Dog and Angel

We were finally able to pick up our pieces up from the pottery place. I won't show the piece I did until after Christmas. These pieces the kids did might end up in your mail boxes. You will be lucky if they do. I asked Conner who he was going to give his dog to for Christmas. He adamantly state, "For ME!" I don't think he will part with it. I love how his dog turned out. K's angel is beautiful as well. This was such a fun project. I can't wait to go back and do it again!

4 year old Preschool

This is a first for me. It is the first time I have bought school pictures. Last year we just bought the class photo. So for the next 15 years we will most likely buy the corny pictures our kids poise for every year. What a rip off! It is hard to resist. These are the pictures that will haunt them the rest of their lives. Someday when they become president, these pictures will flash all over the tv screen!

boating expedition

After school today, I decided to let the kids get some fresh air. 60 degrees today. Love it! Conner was playing in the puddles until he lost his balance and kirplunk! I love see his little bare legs. He is my cutie!

Down and Out

The kids were down and out all week. Today was K's first day back at school. No fevers for 2 days now. Yippee!!! As you can see Conner is a firm believer in an apple a day keeps the docs away. Too bad it isn't true. This kid loves his apples. I took this pic because I came down stairs from cleaning and found that C had helped himself into the fridge and had already eaten half of his apple. Guess it is better than sneaking cookies!

Thanks Grandma and Grandpa

The kids were so excited to get a package. Kaitlyn is thrilled to own her own Sound of Music. We watched it as soon as we opened the gift. They can't get enough! Conner took his turkey to bed with him last night! Thank you!

Pharmacy

Yes, all these medications are ours...oh i forgot the inhaler and all the nebulizer medications. It looks like a pharmacy around here. I took Conner to the doctor Monday morning after a long weekend of fevers. I figured he had pneumonia after listening to his lungs( I have a habit of bringing home my stethoscope since K was diagnosed with asthma). So they started him on an antibiotic and then tamiflu( for the swine flu). Kaitlyn only had a croup at that time but sure enough she has been running a fever for a couple days so i took her in today and at least I know I was right when i listened to her lungs......she too has pneumonia and they are treating her for the flu as well. They have watched a lot of movies and tv over the coarse of the last 5 days but they have also ran around the house like crazies too. To an outsider you wouldn't ever guess they were sick....if they weren't coughing.
I have to settle them down because they get breathing so hard and you can audibly hear their lung sounds. They definitely tucker out faster but Thank God I have good kids that can pull through these illnesses. I know ....seems like we are always sick. This is a brand new house so there can't be that much mold or gross stuff causing all these sicknesses right? They say our kids are just more susceptible to all of this because of their asthma. Who knows but maybe we should be isolationist this winter.

I guess Kaitlyn thought she wanted her nails painted so why wait when you can do it yourself. Straight to the bath she went!

Proud of Daddy!

Tim has been working really hard lately and we wanted to do something special for him. Since we are home sick from school today, we decided to make a poster to hang in the garage so when Tim gets home he will see it. We had a lot of fun making it and of course K and C love balloons! Conner wasn't too happy to be in this picture. We are having homemade lasagna and a special dessert! Looking forward to when he gets home! We appreciate him sooo much! Thanks for all your hard work Tim!!

Our new decoration

Grandma sent this to us a couple weeks ago. The kids love it and isn't it such a cute idea? I thought we should take a picture of it since we are on the second round of turkey feathers and I don't know how long they will last before our poor turkey is plucked!!
We love it and we will love using it year after year! Thanks Grandma!

Happy Birthday Thora!!

Our fr!end, Thora, turned 3! We celebrated at Chuck E Cheese. Conner wasn't able to enjoy the festivities because of his fever but I took Kaitlyn! What an experience! We haven't been there in two years. We had a good time!!!

Tear jerker

We had movie night last night. We only made it through Toy Story 2. This morning we didn't go to church since Conner still has a bad fever and I am wondering if he will need steroids. This morning Tim is sleeping and we just finished the Disney movie, Pollyanna. Do you remember it? It was one of my favorites. By the end of the movie it had me in tears. Kaitlyn was so upset that it ended the way it did. She wanted to see Pollyanna in the hospital. What a wholesome, morally sound movie! Whatever happened to this kind of movie?

These two need your prayers...please

Isn't my mom radiant here. I love this picture of her and my dad. My mom is not doing well. Physically she is fine..but her mind is taking a beating. Mental illness is a horrible thing. I think having a physical ailment so so much more excepted by the general public. My mom has been in the hospital for several weeks now. A specialist will be seeing her on wed of this week. The meds they have tried my mom on have not been working. She is actually off most of her meds. They are thinking she has early onset dementia/alzheimer disease. It breaks my heart to think of my mom with this. I know God is in control! I try to remind my self of that often. God is working...we just don't know how. Please pray for my mom and especially my dad who is under a great amount of stress through all of this. My mom is only 62....she is young. Please pray for the doctors wisdom in her care! Thank you in advance for praying!
