The birds

We have been having a battle with the birds. Last year, we had a bird's nest under our deck. We actually got to see the eggs hatch and the little birds get fed by their mommy. This year we decided not to let them nest under our deck. They have been pooping a lot. It has been a little messy this spring. We have knocked down about 11 nests.The same bird just won't give up. She keeps rebuilding. I try to get our there everyday to get rid of them while they are small. Well today i went out there and the nest was there again and it was complete. Huge! It is amazing how birds are builders. Those nests are amazing. I called Tim and told him he would have to knock this one down because i didn't have the heart to do it. Kaitlyn and I made a bird house yesterday in hopes that the bird would move there. So we put that out today. Then we carefully took down the nest and situated it next to our house. We hope the bird likes it. She has been working so hard. She must hate us by now but our bird house it our truce.

Bible Stories

This isn't the best picture but I had to hurry to get my camera. Kaitlyn goes to a two year old sunday school class while we are in the service...she enjoys it! When we got home from church today, I was trying to get lunch ready and K was insisting that we all sit down. She said it's time to read a bible story. They had learned about Jonah and the whale today! So she picked out one of her books and had us all sit down. She held the book out so we could see the pictures as she made up the story of Jonah. The only thing you could really understand was the part where the whale spit Jonah out. She literally spit as she told it. It is hilarious. Then we asked her what we can learn from the story and she said "to trust Jesus". Her little brain is such a sponge. It is awesome and yet scary at the same time!!

Circle of Trust

We started building our circle of trust this weekend. I now have to figure out how to grow plants and flowers without killing them. Tim has basically built me a flower bed that almost encases the house. It should make it easier for him to mow the lawn this summer. I absolutely love it! I think it looks great. I will take pictures when the sun is out. Today it is raining. Yesterday, it was beautiful. We all were outside helping daddy!! We all got a little too much sun! Conner has been taking several steps. He walked about 15 steps today! He keeps trying and he is so proud of himself. He often claps for himself and says "yea...yea!"

Rocks

Our kids love rocks!! I think that comes from their father who does a lot of yard work. We have a new house that was built on an old lot. We have tons of rocks that turn up in our yard. Last year, we dug up a lot of these rocks so we could have a nice lawn. Well, K knows everything there is about finding, digging up and getting rid of rocks. So we went to this cool state park we had been to last year. It was pretty busy with kids rough housing and that is not up K's alley. We played for a little while and then Conner and Kaitlyn found all the rocks that no one was playing on. They played on those rocks for 30-45 minutes. Who needs all the hoopla when you have nature to play with!!

Spring PJs

So we decided to go out and buy some new pjs. Here are the kids showing off their new duds. They couldn't get enough of themselves in the mirror. Captivated! This went on for at least 5 minutes. Kaitlyn kept sticking out her tummy so she could see little Mermaid! We had to get new pjs because it has been in the 70's even 88 degrees one day and the kids were sweating even with there windows open. K was sleeping in a pool because she now enjoys covering her head with her quilt. Even at nap time she wants the blankets over her head. I haven't figured out why besides she just thinks it is fun!!

Lunch with daddy

We met daddy at the public garden this afternoon. We had a picnic in the Common. We illegally fed some ducks and played at the playground. It was 77 degrees today. What a great afternoon!!

gymnastics class

Here is Kaitlyn doing her favorite thursday morning activity at the Y. Here she is doing her stretches and climbing the big slide. She loves hanging on the bars and jumping on the big trampoline.

The park

We took off to the park the other day. A perfect day for a picnic. Uncle M and Aunt R were playing baseball with K. Conner was crawling all around getting dirty. Everything was going well.....until it happened. K was going down the tunnel slide face first (which she loves to do). Usaully, the slide is slow so she slows way down before the bottom. I am not quite sure what happened but she took a big drop down onto her face and started crying. I am sure it hurt. She skinned up her nose and lip. Uncle Mark picked her up and she was hurt. She must have held her breath. Well she passed out for awhile. She hasn't done this since we moved to MA. She used to do this quite often but i thought it was over now. Hopefully, this was a one time thing. Her babysitters would flip.

On the Beach

So our last big outing of the week was to Gloucester. We had a good day! Uncle Mark found this crab that K wouldn't touch but Conner seemed to enjoy! They both love the sand...too bad we weren't still living in Solana Beach. That is okay. Tim plans on building a sand box!

Make way for Conner

Conner is now big enough to get a dose of the ducks! He was mesmerized. We went to the Common today and we had lunch at Cheers. We haven't been there for about 8 years. It was fun. We also checked out the USS Constitution. Another great day!!

Portland, Maine

I thought i would add these pics as well. Yesterday we took off to Portland! A Beautiful day in the high 40's. It was actually perfect. We toured around downtown. Conner and Kaitlyn were both showing off their walking skills! The kids are going to miss M & R when they have to leave. We were able to go tidepooling and check out a cool lighthouse. I added this pic for Grandma.

Uncle Mark and Aunt Rachel

So M & R are here visiting for a week. The kids absolutely love it!! We do as well. Tim and Mark have already had a wrestling match. Tim won of course! HA! They have only been here one day but i probably already have 60 pics. We haven't even been out and about yet. Only to K's swim lessons. so i am sure you will see many more pics from the week but i thought i would get these up for mom to see. I would post some funny ones of the wrestling match but Tim won't let me so you will have to use your imagination. OH i almost forgot. Conner took his first steps yesterday. I think the most he did was three. It was so cute because he would take one step forward and then one back. It won't be long now. I am kinda excited about it because right now most of his jeans and pants have stained knees and are just torn up from crawling around outside. He is as tall as a two year old.

Fish Face

So does this look like a face of a girl with pneumonia???? Well, that is what we have been dealing with for the last week. She is now on her second antibiotic. We now own our own nebulizer. Poor little kid was wheezing so bad from the pneumonia. The treatments have totally helped. This hasn't kept her down. She is still wrestling with Conner like crazy and with the good weather we have been out and about all week.

Haircut

Here was our adventure this am. We left the house at 0830. We went with daddy to his barber shop. Conner had his first official haircut other than the ones i have given him. I must say i do just as well. I wanted his hair on top to stay long so that eventually it would lay down. She convinced me to take a little off the top as well. So the back looks better but the top is still funky. I will probably shave it all off once it gets warmer outside.I love the picture of me smiling and Conner looking at me like i am crazy. Next up....me...i definitely need the next cut in the family. Today after naps we went on a long wagon ride and then played outside for a long time. Our neighbors eventually joined us. The weather was beautiful today!!

Friends turning 3

Many of Kaitlyn's friends have been turning three! With this comes many birthday parties. We went to one of them today. It was at a place called Imagine That! They had dress up areas,puppet shows, arts and crafts, grocery stores,a kitchen, a huge jumper, large maze with three very fast slides and just so much to do. We couldn't fit it all in. It was a very fun party. Kaitlyn is under the weather but she really wanted to go so we ventured out and enjoyed ourselves.

Home Depot Fun

The weather is getting nicer! Thank God! With good weather comes yard work. We have lots of plans for the yard. We will see how much we get done. So home depot will be our home away from home!! Here the kids are enjoying their ride! It is so much fun to see these two interact. They love to play together. It is great!!
