Sand box is done!

I added these pictures so you all could get an idea of the box. Tim has added seats onto the side and then you can see the top cover behind kaitlyn. It opens from the middle and folds back on both sides and then the seats are on the opposite sides (the long sides). It is a pretty high tech sandbox! We love it and are in it every day. Yep that leads to a lot of sand in the house but it provides hours of fun!!

We will miss you!!

This is Kaitlyn's friend, Lisa. She has been coming to our house every tuesday for almost a year now. Yep, every week without fail. We have learned a lot from her. She has been a playmate of K's...bringing something new to do every week. We have looked forward to her visit. She has been K's speech therapist. When the child turns three they basically get booted out of the program. Well, yesterday was her last day with us so we had a little party. Kaitlyn doesn't understand that Lisa won't be coming to play anymore. I think it will be a little rough on her but it is a good thing it is summer so we can be out and about! All of us will miss Lisa!!

Sandbox Fun

I just thought i would post these pictures of the sandbox. It is playable now. It still needs a lid and seats but right now we get to enjoy it. Yesterday, K and C went in it for the first time. I just didn't have my camera. Today, V from next door came over to play. K could just sit in there for hours moving sand and digging. We put 70 --50lb bags of sand in there. Plenty to dig in. I got my workout for the week moving the bags and emptying them in. Should be fun this summer!

Playdate

We had a wild morning so far. We had some friends over. This was their first playdate with this family. They have a 4 yr old and twin boy and girl--2 yrs old. We had a good time. Kaitlyn was playing with all three of them and Conner was holding his own. It was the first time I have ever had to clean up crayon off of my walls but that magic eraser does work magic so it wasn't a big deal at all. Hope to do it again soon the play date that is.

He is a BOY

This little guy is going to get into a lot of trouble. He is much steadier on his feet however he occassionally looks like a drunk. Well he was toddling around with his sippy cup when he took a dive. He was gushing with blood. His nose was swollen for a while but he wouldn't keep the ice on it.Thank goodness my camera was right there to catch the after effects.

Value of a dollar

I thought i would just put a funny on here without a picture. Tonight i was straightening up while the kids were playing in the other room. All of a sudden i heard Kaitlyn ask, "Where's my credit card?". I got a really good laugh out of this. It actually made me stop and think about using my cards. I think I better start using cash for things so she can see things don't revolve around the card. I had given her one of those fake cards that come in the credit card offers in the mail. She has been using it when she is shopping in the Dora Kitchen. Kaitlyn is a sponge and a big observer... soaking everything in.

Juice box

I had to take a picture. This was K's first juice box experience. We only gave K milk and water til a couple months ago. We started letting her have OJ. Well, I gave her the juice box and after much hesitation she took it and loved it!!

All Better

Well i know some of you were wondering. The boy is fine! The picture i put on of Conner's tooth didn't do it justice. It was pretty bad. Like a half moon out of it and very sharp on both ends. The dentist had Conner lay across mine lap and his. We had our knees together and Conner's head was in his lap. Conner was a perfect patient. He just laid there and let the stranger put his fingers all around in his mouth as he assessed all of his teeth. The Kaitlyn came in the room and the doc didn't want to scare K or leave her with bad memories of the dentist. So....the assistant and the dentist took Conner into another room. I think they had to restrain him because he had some little red marks on his cheeks and neck. I asked if the rooms were sound proof (we went to a pediatric dentist). They aren't sound proof....so Conner did really well. They just put a composite or something on it so if and when he falls again..he will break his composite and not his real tooth. So back to normal.

Kid Fest

After church today, we went to our downtown kid's fest! It was rained out two weeks ago so they had it today. What a gorgeous day for it. Kaitlyn was afraid of the Big Elmo but she talked to one of the princesses walking around. The biggest treat of the day was climbing into the fire truck. We got a pic of her on the outside...try not to look at me...i wanted to cut me out but i didn't have time...i have to run off to work!

Pizza Girl

While I was at work last night, Kaitlyn and Daddy made pizza. Kaitlyn enjoyed making it and Conner loved eating it. That is all she was talking about when i woke her up this morning.

opps!

Well, our little guy is so adventurous and daring! I think i am a pretty laid back mom. I don't freak out when they fall.....over and over again on the asphalt. Conner's red sox hat has been saving his head. The bill seems to break the major falls. He has so many bruises and scraps from playing outside. Yesterday, we were outside playing. Conner walked into the garage and was belly laughing and hiding behind the van and then the laughing turned to crying. I stroll over to see if all is okay and he has yet another bleeding lip. Poor baby. There was a couple rocks on his shirt from the fall that i just dusted off. I guess i should have saved those rocks. Tim gets home and after hugging all he notices right away Conner's chipped tooth. I thought that rock looked like a tooth. I didn't even think to look in the mouth... i just doctored up the lip. So off to the dentist we go this afternoon to spend i am sure tons of money.Do you think a chic let will work? I love his smile...the little gap between the teeth. Well i guess it is just a bigger gap now. I just can't imagine having a 14 month old cooperate at a dentist office. I will keep you posted. Lesson for the day......always check the teeth!

Projects

I need to take this time to brag on my hubby! He has been hard at work. We really don't have that much time to do projects around the house. Tim has a long commute and when he gets home it is time to play with the kids. Then i work every other weekend evenings so that doesn't leave a lot of time. We always seem to make time for the fun things. Anyway, I wanted to show you all this brick work Tim did. This is leading out from our basement door. He still needs to figure out how he is going to make the step but i love the stone work. The other pic is of our gravesite. HA! No, Tim is building a sandbox under our deck stairs for the kids. It will be huge. Just digging it alone took so much work. I started the dig and believe me i didn't get very far. My back hurt the next day. Third project we accomplished this weekend was staining the deck. I thought it wouldn't be that bad but......all those darn posts take forever. Then i was hanging upside down part of the time. I worked both sat and sun while the kids were napping (thank God for three hour naps). I am only a little bit more than half way done. Oh the joys of owning a house.

What a difference a year makes!

Here we are last mom's day and then yesterday. Conner doesn't like to sit still unless i am reading him a book or he has his favorite food in front of him. He is so much fun. He is mimicking everything we say. He says Kaitlyn and NO and just about anything you say he will try to say. He says All Done as well as signs it. He also signs ME and MORE. So cute. Yesterday, in the store He was doing MORE but just with his two pointer fingers. Oh i wish i had a picture it was adorable.
The picture frame was custom painted by our daughter. It is my first homemade Mother's day present. I am sure the first of many. She made it at Sunday School and had it all wrapped up when we got there to pick her up. She is so proud of it and was so excited for me to open it. I love it!
God has truly blessed us with these two miracles of life! We are so thankful for our kids! What an awesome responsibility and joy!

i photo booth

We were outside most of the morning but had to come back in due to the sprinkles! We decided to play with the photo booth on this computer! The kids both love pictures! You can kinda get a glimpse of my new hair do. It is still blonde just a little darker. I think i might even go short with the next cut. I have so much hair they had to thin it out.... alot!! I guess that will help when i get old and start loosing hair. I will have a little to spare!

Around Town

We went into Boston today and met Tim for lunch. We had a picnic by the harbor, went and saw my favorites....penquins, strolled through Fannuiel Hall, watched the fountains and made it home in time for a late nap. Oh how i love the nice weather! Conner is on his own. He walked quite a distance today. He still looks a little like frankenstien but he does it!!

landscape

Okay, I said i would post some pics once the sun came out!! Well, it has been out for several days. 80 degrees today!! Awesome! The kids and i have been outside for most of the past several days.
The landscaping should look better next year when some of our rose bushes and other bushes grow a little. I have lots of things planted but some haven't started growing yet. I am excited to see the change. We still have a lot to do in the backyard but it will take awhile.
It was funny. The other night i worked a 16hr shift. I got off at 7am. I couldn't wait until their naptime. Well....we ended up outside with friends about a half hour past naptime. Anyways, when they were napping i fell asleep on the couch and opps.....didn't wake up til 515pm.......i jumped up because i was like what are the kids doing....well each one was awake just playing in their rooms. I wonder how long this will last.

Home alone

So Tim and his friends just took off!! They are going on an adventure race. Sounds like fun but I can see it being a disaster for me so I opted not to do it this year. Not that I was asked to participate or anything. HA! I guess they knew better. This race takes between 3-6 hrs. It includes canoeing, mountain biking, navigation, and running/hiking. It is a team race of three. Can you believe three guys lost in the woods with a map? No woman to help them find there way. One of Tim's friends who was here this morning was a replacement. He said he was roped into it thinking it would be like Huck Fin on the river. No one told him how far they were going to go or the getting lost part. I wish i could have a video of this!

Conner/Isaac

This picture has a dual purpose. First you can see our little guy toddling. The other day I was with a bunch of moms and one said to me..."I guess you don't have a baby any more but a toddler". WOW! My baby.....a toddler! They both are my babies but WOW! The second purpose of this picture is to show Isaac how big Conner is. This is the outfit we took Isaac in to get his one year pics done. It doesn't fit Conner to well. The sleeves are too short and the vest keeps popping buttons. The little tie is too cute!!
