Lunch time with Conner

Conner had his first cereal bar today. I am such a chicken mom. I was the same way with Kaitlyn. I am a nurse so you would think I wouldn't be as timid with the food. I mean I know the heimlich and CPR so really I could handle it. He has been eating saltines for several weeks now. A couple days ago he started with gold fish. I have tried scrabbled eggs with him but he really didn't care about it. He has 8 teeth so really I am sure he can handle it. I just hate the idea of him choking. I am building confidence so hopefully I can try more stuff with him. He is 10 months so I should get on that! I think I want to keep him a baby as long as possible.

Library

Kaitlyn continues to love books! She always wants to read. Our new routine is going to the Library after gym class. She gets so excited. She gets her Dora backpack ready and puts all her books in them to return and then fills up the bag with new books. It makes her feel like a big kid. We barely missed story time today but i think that would have been pushing it today. Conner has started back with a runny nose. I just keep praying it doesn't turn into a ear infection. He has his ear check next thurs. Conner is so good at pulling himself up. He was a late bloomer but he is great at it now. I found him standing holding on to the second step the other day. Now the fun begins. Oh I also found him last night in the kitchen. He was taking out all the cans from the cupboard. Kaitlyn never really did that. Well i guess she did at both of her grandparent's houses just not ours.

gymnastics

These are a few pics I took today at class. This is Kaitlyn's fourth week and she is just starting to really enjoy it. I wish i would have taken pictures of her on the running trampoline and the huge round trampoline. She is so cautious with everything. She wants to hold my finger whenever she is jumping or the balance beam. I will try to take more pictures in the next several weeks. She had lots of fun today! I love watching her laugh and enjoy herself!

New Friends

Meet the kids new friend, T. She is 14 months and lots of fun. There wasn't a lot of playing together but they all enjoyed watching each other. They did like having snacks together! It was a fun afternoon. I can just watch kids play all day. Oh that is basically what i do all day now!

Good Night and Good Morning!!

This is how we find Kaitlyn alot. She loves to sit back and cross her legs and either read,drink,talk on the phone or watch tv. she cracks me up. Here is a shot of Kaitlyn this morning. She didn't take a bath last night so the hair stayed in pigtails overnight. She is always in a good mood in the am. I love this picture!!

Park in the snow

We found a park that wasn't covered in snow! Saturday it probably was 29-31 degrees out. Perfect to get out and about. HAHA.
It actually didn't feel that cold. This park was awesome! Lots of things to do...even for mom and dad! I was just glad to get them out and playing!

Out and about

These are pictures from our visit to a NH state park. Kaitlyn was able to stand on big sheets of ice. If we had ice skates we would have been able to skate around.

Nurse Kaitlyn

Kaitlyn is so cute when she tells people what I do for work and where I work and that I take care of sick people. Today, we took a field trip to Toy R Us. On the way there I told K that she could walk around and play with the toys. She politely said NO Play I will just Look. I had to convince her it was okay to walk around and touch the toys. She had so much fun just looking. Conner was mesmirized by all the colors and kids. Now Kaitlyn has the little doc kit so she was practicing on her babies. The baby she is working on is actually mine from when I was a kid. My aunt brought it from Germany. It is a German version of a Cabbage Patch kid. Needless to say Kaitlyn took very good care of her. She gave her medicine, shots and then gave her a clean bill of health.

Okay, two reasons i selected these pictures are 1. check out how wonderful the haircut i gave C is. No mater the length of it , it will always have several cowlicks. Now i will either have it buzzed or let is grow very very long. It is just getting there that is not fun. 2. C is now totally into saltines. I guess I need to try to keep trying knew things.

Can you say exhausting!!

We had our neighbors over for three plus hours while their mom had some relaxation. The first pic was for an arts and crafts project we did for V's mom. We had a little preschool right here in our house. My mom must have had tons of energy to have four of us and to keep us as active as she did with no TV. We had a fun time of crafts, dancing and using our imagination. I added one of these pics for Grandma D. The little play house was a big hit with all four. Kaitlyn and Conner are always playing with it and so far they play so good together. I just hope it continues. Oh the reason I Titled this exhausted was because I hadn't slept in over 32 hours. I had done a double shift( 16 1/2 hrs) over night at the hospital so I was dying for a nap. Amazingly enough I had enough energy for the first several hours but after that i was struggling.

Kaitlyn is such a comedian. She loves to be in front of the camera. She is still a big Dora fan.

Conner's 2nd Haircut

Well I gave it a try again. Conner's hair was getting way out of control. He has like two crowns or cowlicks or whatever makes your hair crazy. I thought the longer it got the better it would get but no suck luck! So I cut it down to 3/4 inch today. He does so good with it. so It is a little better but i might have to buzz the whole thing. We will see. I even trimmed Kaitlyn's hair tonight. I am kinda proud of myself. We will see how it looks tomorrow.

True Love

Here are my babies!! This was right after they both got up. As you can see both of their heads of hair can get wild!!
Kaitlyn likes to have Conner sit in her nap. It gets a little crazy when she tries to sit in his lap! The other pic is of Kaitlyn after sharing some cinnamon and sugar toast with me! She is such a little ham.

Snowman fun!!

While Conner was napping, Kaitlyn and I had fun tumbling in the snow! It was beautiful out today. Nice and bright and Sunny!
Here are our snowmen. I think we can do better but this is really Kaitlyn and actually my first snowman. It was loads of fun. We will make them a littler fatter next time. The last pic is of Kaitlyn doing her snow angel. I did a couple and Kaitlyn decided she needed to do it differently.

tons O poop

Well, I think I am the queen of poop! I always have been since i started nursing! Somehow I am always the blessed one that has to deal with the grossest of things. It hasn't changed now that I am a mom. Kaitlyn keeps telling us as she is pooping that she needs to sit on her Dora Chair. So she totally gets the idea and now i just need to get motivated. I am not in that big of a hurry now.
This other pic is of Conner in the ER. I took him yesterday. I had called the doc to get him seen and she told me to take him to the ER. I know this pic is deceiving. Conner looks happy to be there. He wasn't. I had to hold this > 20 pounder the entire time. He is getting so heavy. Tim was grocery shopping with Kaitlyn so at least I didn't have to wait with both of them. His ear infection is gone but he somehow caught a tummy bug that is running around crazy here. He had been violently throwing up, having diarrhea and just plain getting dehydrated. I couldn't get him to take anything and if I did it would come right up or out. We had So many messes. I had taken him to the doc on thurs but he was getting worse and I was worried. So they told me to go to the ER because Conner was lethargic. We spent about 3 or 4 hrs there. UGH!!! We left somewhat more hydrated and exhausted. I had worked the night before until 730 am and had only slept 1 hr so i am sure you all can imagine how tired I was!!

Hazel Eyes

So it looks like I need to get more pictures of Conner on this blog! Conner has beautiful blue eyes. Kaitlyn calls him MR BLUE EYES! It is very cute! Kaitlyn has these gorgeous hazel eyes. I love them! They turn so many different colors just depending on what she is wearing. Here is a pic of her with her new "Granny's purse". It is a cool book she received for Christmas! It has everything in it.

My lil Artist

Kaitlyn keeps me very busy! We are constantly doing something. She is very good at entertaining herself or Conner but she loves to create. She is becoming quite the artist as you can see in these pictures! She also loves to play Candyland, Memory,Play-dough, house, tea and just about anything! She is So fun!!

Game Night

We had all the neighbors over last night to play Cranium. The girls won of course! We had a good time! The kids played and played and played. Kaitlyn and her friend played dress up. Kaitlyn is really good about sharing. After she wore her new fairy costume, she let V wear it and she became Snow White!

Relaxing

Kaitlyn likes to kick back and relax! Here she is chowing down on a banana! She was just waiting for something exciting to happen. Her nap time continues to be exciting. I have been putting her down a little later than normal just because she hasn't been acting tired! I am hoping this is not the start of a habit with shorter naps. I like my three hours in the afternoon. Well, she of course doesn't sleep the entire time. As long as she is having quiet time and playing or reading by herself that is fine with me. We can always hear her up in the room dropping things and walking around until she passes out. Well today i left the door cracked so i could peek in on her without waking her. I got a couple shots taken before i accidentally woke her. Aunt Cherie gave K a new my little pony play rug that she has on her floor in her room. She loves it. When i get her from her nap she always has it in bed with her. The last couple weeks she has been emptying out her drawers of PJs and her book shelf of book/toys and taking them to her bed during nap time. She doesn't do this in the morning as she just waits for me to get her when she wakes up. Something about nap time that inspires her to play, explore and sometimes be a little naughty! At least she can entertain herself!!

Fort Time

So we definitely are not venturing outside today. Tim and I were suppose to go skiing today. We had a babysitter all lined up and everything! Let's just say that we opted not to go. Tim went to work! It is like 3 degrees outside and then add in the wind chill and can you say freezing. We decided to make a warm fort! I remember as a kids just loving our home made forts. I had been meaning to do this with K for awhile and today just worked out well! Kaitlyn and Conner enjoyed crawling in and out. I know that Tim will be able to build a better one and I am a little rusty at it but I am sure i will improve over the years!
It should be in the 30-40's over the next several days so next project is a fort in the snow!

Helping dad out!

We went outside yesterday to get some fresh air! We played and played and played! We took a quick nap in the snow.
Kaitlyn was trying to help dad out by cleaning off his work car! What a helper!

Beautiful

Kaitlyn received this beautiful Fairy costume from her Grandparents! She loves it and so do I. She just looks so beautiful and innocent in it! I like the pic of her in it with her little chunky legs and feet showing! Conner got a good laugh out of it!
